I’m getting word that our country’s largest railroad, Amtrak, reported today they anticipate their busiest travel day this year to be Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
From what I am hearing, there could be as many as 125,000 people riding the rails that day. To explain just how many that is: on any average day, the number of travelers Amtrak has is an estimated 74,000. To offset the abundance of people, Amtrak says they are scheduling extra trains.
My recommendation to families is this: if you choose to ride the rails this holiday season, be sure to confirm your seat now. Amtrak’s northeast routes will all require reservations. For more, visit Amtrak: http://www.amtrak.com/
