You have a colicy baby, and you’ve just boarded the plane. Youare beginning to get dirty looks from some of the passengers.
Diffuse the with anger by saying out loud (for their benefit more than the baby): “its OK little one- you’ll be asleep in just a few minutes. We just need to get through the next minute and then you can have your bottle, and go right to sleep.”
Alternate line: “Come on sweetie. You aren’t that kid. Nobody likes that kid on the plane. You’re my big boy. You’re tough. You’ll have your bottle soon and fall fast asleep.”
I’ve found even the toughest person suddenly finds sympathy for you, knowing that you are concerned about their flight experience.
